FRAMEWORK FOR EVALUATING INTELLIGENT VEHICLE-HIGHWAY SYSTEMS
Steven E. Underwood, Stephen G Gehring · Transportation Research Record Journal of the Transportation Research Board · 1994
Evaluation of intelligent vehicle-highway systems (IVHSs) is a relatively new activity. An evaluation framework useful for those interested in IVHSs is presented in which each component of IVHS evaluation offers new challenges. These challenges involve public and private benefits, new product functions, market penetration, abundant data generated from new systems, human interaction, and multisite deployments. Although many methodologies for evaluation exist, some significant challenges need to be addressed to properly evaluate IVHSs.
