A Framework for the Manipulation of a Multiversion Database.

The problem of building general purpose user interfaces in multiversion databases is presented. To cope with the needs of applications, such user interfaces must integrate tools to manipulate many versions of object within their context. This is only possible if the underlying version model represents versions independently of their implementation, as does the DataBase Versions approach [11]. A framework based on this approach is presented. It allows to organize a multiversion database according to application semantics and offers synthetic representations of the database using graph views.
