TRAFFIC CONTROL IN HISTORICAL PART OF PRAGUE

Pavel Přibyl · 1998

This contribution describes some of the latest facilities that have been developed for contemporary traffic control in the historical part of the City of Prague. The present traffic control system operating in Prague is based dominantly on human experts decision. Due to considerably high skill of these people the traffic system in Prague has still quite acceptable properties, but in near future without use of progressive decision support system their possibilities cannot compete with the still increasing intensity and complexity of the existing traffic load of Prague. The first part of this paper is therefore oriented to the problems of traffic data analysis by the use of modules of traffic classification and short and long time prediction of traffic flow. In the second part of this paper a short description of decision support system based on linguistic oriented expert system is presented. For the covering abstract see IRRD E102946.
