TRAFFIC TELEMATICS SOFTWARE ENVIRONMENT

This paper discusses the design and implementation of a distributed computer software environment for use in traffic control and monitoring. The system can accommodate different software modules and systems without any adverse performance effects. The system presents a natural method for building hierarchical control systems in a distributed computer environment. A communication interface delivers simple and reliable traffic data to all nodes and modules in the system.
