AUTOMOBILE SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM USING A FUZZY LOGIC CONTROLLER

Shingo Murakami, Masako Maeda · 1985

This paper deals with the synthesis of a fuzzy logic controller by using fuzzy reasoning based on Lukasiewicz logic as proposed by Y. Tsukamoto and its application to automobile speed control system. The controller is composed of a set of linguistic control rules which are conditional linguistic statements expressing the relationship between inputs and outputs. Two algorithms to compute the values of manipulated variable on the microprocessor are developed in order to make a real time speed control of automobile. We discuss the results of computer simulations and road tests of an automobile equipped with the microprocessor and we also discuss the usefulness of fuzzy logic controller applied to the automobile speed control system.
