A NOVEL 3-STEP COMBINATIONAL APPROACH FOR IMAGE ENCRYPTION
H. T. Panduranaga, Kishor Kumar Sadasivuni · 2009
With fast progression of data exchange in electronic way, information security and privacy are becoming more important in data storage and transmission. In this paper, we proposed a new approach for image encryption using combination of existing SCAN approach with the concept of representing a gray scale image as a size extended binary image. Proposed image encryption process involves three steps; first step is to construct a size extended binary image using original image. In second step, apply the existing scan approach for rearranging the pixels of newly constructed binary image. In step three reconstruct the gray scale image of original size using reverse process of step one. Finally the resulting image is found to be fully distorted. Further, applying the reverse process at the receiver, the decrypted image is found to be distortion less.
