ADVANCED BIOMETRIC SOLUTIONS
J Dagan · Airports international · 2002
Biometric screening promises to meet safety and convenience benchmarks before airport industry can bring back business travelers without compromising security. Face recognition is a promising avenue because of the presence of photo identification and the non-intrusiveness of scanning a person's face, but it is an immature technology that deteriorates in a crowded, random setting. Until uninterrupted crowd flows can be achieved, some kind of hybrid system is most promising. One such system has combined hand geometry with face recognition.
