Japanese supercomputer challenge

The American Cray X-MP and the Japanese Fujitsu VP-200 were benchmarked. The results are presented. Apparently, the Japanese vendors have yet to overtake American vendors. However, the race to build bigger and faster supercomputers is just beginning.
