ELECTRONIC ENFORCEMENT OF TRAFFIC LAWS

With incident management and emergency services as part of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), there is a trend for law enforcement to play a greater role in ITS development. The public in turn will likely associate electronic enforcement (EE) of traffic laws with ITS. In describing EE the article stresses the need for ITS implementors to be aware of such enforcement programs. With proper guidance EE programs can be designed that will increase safety and foster wide public support.
