WHERE TO GEO ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB
Aaron Bond · Ground engineering · 1996
This article describes the author's attempts to locate geotechnical information on the Internet's World Wide Web, using several of the available search facilities. He found disappointingly little geotechnical information on the Web home pages of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Civil Engineers, and Emap Construct's The Construction Site. However, he strongly recommends The World Wide Web Virtual Library of Geotechnical Engineering, which contains the Geotechnical Virtual Library, and lists several other relevant pages. Web page identifiers are given for all the references cited. An inset outlines the radical changes being made to The Construction Site, and explains that it will contain substantial geotechnical information.
