Abstract. The detailed design of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) is intended to introduce additional detail for each architectural component of the system according to agent-oriented design patterns. In this paper, we propose a process to perform the detailed design of MAS using UML-based diagrams and social patterns. This process is described in detail using the SPEM notation and is illustrated with the e-News example, where the social patterns description technique is exemplified with the Matchmaker pattern. 1
