This paper presents a proposal of a new location estimating method for Mobile Station (MS) in CDMA cellular system. The proposed method is called Interpolated Non-linear Solution with PX method (INS-PX Method), which requires only three Base Stations (BSs) and the estimated MS location can be obtained under any condition. This method is applied to Signal Strength, Time of Arrival (TOA), or Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) as measurements for location estimation. The authors evaluate the performance of this new method through simulations under various conditions, including the comparison with the conventional methods.
