Dedicated to Professor Rémi Vaillancourt on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday Abstract. A generalization of Gröchenig’s lemma on matrices is given. A theory of multi-dimensional r-regular multi-wavelets is described in general terms. A general existence theo-rem for multi-dimensional r-regular multi-wavelets based on the generalization of Gröchenig’s lemma, similar to the general existence theorem for Meyer’s r-regular wavelets, is proved. 1.
