(1) Some clearly bad constraints (but what makes them bad?): a. Palindromic: The candidate reads the same backwards as forwards. b. FtQuint: Feet are quintary (5 syllables or moras). c. MemberOf(a, aardvark, aardvarks, aardwolf, aardwolves, Aaron . . . ): Candidate must be in the specified set of surface forms. d. MatchesOutputOfSPE: The output matches the result of applying Chomsky & Halle (1968) to the input.
