High spin effects in superdense matter. [Symmetric second-rank tensor]

R. L. Bowers, Austin M. Gleeson, R. Daryl Pedigo · 1978

A model of relativistic interacting superdense matter with vector, scalar and symmetric second rank tensor exchange is developed. The Green's functions of the model are solved in the self consistent Hartree approximation. The contributions of the symmetric second rank tensor are emphasized. It is found that these high spin contributions effect the superdense matter at densities just beyond those predicted to occur in neutron star matter or nuclear collisions. The spin-two effects do produce an unusual asymptotic dependence, p = -/sup 1///sub 3/ epsilon. This effect is examined in a simple model of the early universe.
