Tables for Group Screening

Donald C. Snyder, Kathlene Larson · Journal of Quality Technology · 1969

Groups of items must sometimes be screened so that each item in the group can be identified as either good or defective. The accompanying tables will minimize (on the average) the number of tests required when testing is done in groups and only two outcomes can be identified: (1) the units are all good, or (2) there is at least one defective unit present. It is assumed that the percent defective of the lot or process from which the group came is known.
