Geonotes related applications are booming. This has the potentialto create an overload of geonotes - wherever we go, there maybe tens, perhaps hundreds of geonotes. Even if all are informative andinteresting, we simply cannot view them all; and many of them will notbe of interest to a particular person. Cultural heritage is a domain wherethere is both the potential for valuable information delivery via geonotes.Personalization oers a way to reduce, perhaps avoid, this anticipated informationoverload. To make this work, we propose to enable the personcreating a geonote to associate it with information to support personalization. This can include: a relevant part of their own prole; a modelof the target users and the context for the geonote. Such personalizedgeonotes can be ltered on the set of such models leaving just those mostrelevant for them. This paper introduces the novel idea of personalizedgeonotes, using an extended scenario and outline for an architecture tosupport this.
