The Likelihood and Invariance Principles

John A. Hartigan · Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B (Statistical Methodology) · 1967

It is suggested, in explanation, that the likelihood and invariance principles are valid under two different viewpoints of the model, and that these viewpoints are incompatible.
