A novel estimator of mode in the presence of auxiliary information

In this paper, we propose an estimation procedure of mode that uses auxiliary information and compare it with existing estimators, including naive, ratio, and difference type estimators. The proposed estimator demonstrates improved efficiency through empirical examples and simulation studies. These studies suggest that judicious use of auxiliary information may lead to highly efficient estimators of mode. The performance of the proposed estimator has been validated by computing the percent relative efficiency in the case of real data sets as well as simulated populations. The R codes and references to data sets used are provided, which make the results easily reproducible.
