Industrial interconnection: traceability, research status and outlook

Under the great change that the world has not seen in a century, industrial interconnection, as a key issue in today's economic field, is critical to China's economic development by clarifying the traceability of industrial interconnection, the current state of research, and the future development trend of industrial interconnection. First, using the bibliometric method, we compare and analyse the research hotspots of industrial interconnection at home and abroad over the last 15 years, highlighting the distinction between foreign studies that emphasise technological innovation and domestic studies that emphasise application and economic value. Second, we examine the driving force, evolution, and industrial integration of industrial interconnection, demonstrating that policy support and digital technology innovation drive industrial interconnection, and revealing that industrial interconnection exhibits a progressive development trend from low to high in terms of infrastructure degree, level of core functions, and ecological construction abilities. Finally, it anticipates the research path of industrial interconnection from the technical perspective of ‘resource integration – data information integration – function integration – process integration’.
