Smooth pursuit eye movements refer to the ability of the eyes to track a moving target smoothly and accurately, involving coordinated motion typically observed in both eyes. These movements can range from slow to fast, making their analysis crucial in clinical and research contexts. Key types of eye movements, such as saccades and smooth pursuit, offer valuable insights into parameters like velocity, precision, latency, and gain. Accurate detection of smooth pursuit forms the foundation for assessing these parameters. However, the influence of translational head movement on smooth pursuit eye movements remains poorly understood. This type of motion is frequently encountered in everyday activities, such as walking or traveling in a vehicle. The study employs the Balance Eye Tracker, an advanced device leveraging computer vision algorithms for precise and accurate tracking of eye movements. Exploring the effects of translational head movement on smooth pursuit is especially significant for younger individuals, enhancing our understanding of their visual-motor integration.
