Caroline Gunawan, Robertus Tang Herman · Procedia Computer Science · 2025

Mobile applications are essential in today’s digital world, making numerous parts of life easier. However, the process of applying for a visa, particularly in developing countries like Indonesia, continues to be cumbersome. In order to facilitate easier and more independent visa applications for Indonesians, Visaku is a mobile application developed using the Design Thinking methodology. It features OCR-enabled automatic form filling, compliance photographs, AI-generated itineraries, document checklists, and support in the Indonesian language. This research examines the user experience (UX) of Visaku through the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ), which was filled out by 100 users. Data shows that the application marks a higher score in Attractiveness (1.64) which is an indication that users found Visaku appealing and pleasant to engage with. However, Visaku also marked the lowest score on novelty (1.08), highlighting the need for innovative features to differentiate it from other applications. Overall, Visaku performs well in functionality and reliability, but greater creativity would enhance user engagement. In furthering the design of the app, usability and originality need to be prioritized.
