The cybersecurity field has been expanding exponentially for the last few decades and has become a gigantic multi-billion-dollar industry. The threat surface of cyberattacks is expanding with the introduction of advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and an extensively connected world of billions of devices and entities into a colossal network. In fact, billions of transactions and events occur on just one single host in a day. Thus, billions of devices interconnected in a collaborative and interactive manner must be producing billions of events and digital transactions between the connected devices. Processing all those events and activities is necessary to have deeper insight into the probabilities of emerging threats in a digital world. The reality is, processing such huge volumes of transactions, events, activities, and messages is not possible with traditional methods of data analytics or with just human intervention through customized data analysis tools to skim any valuable information from those huge volumes of data. 210
