The Internet of Things has been growing rapidly in the last few years. They have made the industries across various sectors connected and at the same time automated. The growth has also brought few security challenges with it. These IoT devices are vulnerable to different cyberattacks such as unauthorized access, man-in-the-middle attacks, denial-of-service attacks, etc. This paper explores the currently existing security vulnerabilities in the IoT devices on the network and how the existing security frameworks and the new technologies are able to mitigate these risks. The paper discusses about intrusion detection systems for detecting anomalies, zero-trust policies, regular over-the-air updates, etc. It also gives an idea about the existing work on IoT security and how researchers are making efforts to make the IoT network more secure.
