End User Development for Mobile Money System
Mostafa Mohamad, Dababrata Chowdhury · Auerbach Publications eBooks · 2025
End-user development in financial technology is underexplored. There is limited research on how artificial intelligence (AI) and low-code technologies have enhanced user experience and service personalization. Accordingly, this chapter offers a chronological review of the financial technologies and the evolution of the Mobile Money System (MMS) from a socio-technical perspective. It also defines MMS and the socio-technical elements of its user interface (dial-up, mobile apps, web interface, and the cloud interface). On one side, the social system of MMS addresses issues of trust, enhanced end-user experience, security, socioeconomic factors, and personalized services. On the other side, the technical sub-system addresses the adoption of digital artifacts such as Generative AI, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Software Development Kits (SDKs), Low-Code Development, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and machine learning to fulfill the user’s needs in the social sub-system.
