Augmented reality reshaping medical and engineering education

Manvi Mishra, Brijmohan, Harsh Vardhan Saxena · 2025

Augmented Reality (AR) has become a groundbreaking tool that is changing the way we learn in an era of rapid technological advancement and educational change. This research explores how AR is used in medical and engineering education. It highlights how 3D models, simulations, and animations play a key role in changing technologies and how we learn and create a more engaging and effective learning space. 3D models, simulations, and animations in engineering classes are vital to help students grasp concepts and build skills. They allow students to collaborate, solve problems, and grasp complex concepts. In the same way, AR tools in medical training allow students practice surgeries, check virtual patients, and learn about the human body in depth. This link helps bridge the gap between theory and hands-on experience. This chapter looks at AR in both these fields to boost education quality. By offering interactive and engaging lessons tailored to each student, AR will change how engineering and medical students learn. It will prepare them for real-world scenarios.
