This chapter discusses how blockchain technology transforms water route monitoring by introducing enhanced security, reduced fraud and increased transparency and efficiency into the process. One of the main benefits of using blockchain for water route tracking is its ability to provide secure and authenticated real-time information. In order to achieve real-time tracking capabilities, the system integrates IoT devices, GPS trackers and RFID tags with blockchain. IoT sensors continuously provide data to smart contracts, which trigger automated alerts for anomalies, such as unauthorized route deviation or excessive delays. To facilitate maximum adoption, blockchain route tracing must integrate seamlessly with existing enterprise resource planning software, fleet management software and supply chain systems. As technology continues to advance, future technologies such as AI-based water quality monitoring, 5G networks and decentralized water management systems will further enhance the ability of blockchain.
