Efficient drying and storing agricultural products properly and efficiently are key factors in minimizing losses during and after harvesting while maintaining quality. Unfortunately, many conventional drying and racking techniques such as sun drying, or even semi-automated systems, are laborious, time-consuming, and rarely produce consistent results. The development of automatic multi crop drying and racking machines is one such step that enhances agricultural technology, providing a dependable, energy-efficient, and adjustable method of production for modern farming adaptation. This article focuses specifically on the design as well as the advancements of technology multi-crop automatic drying and raking machines. Among other features are temperature and humidity control, IoT monitoring, and AI-enhanced optimization which help in the precise drying of crops such as grains, spices, fruits, or nuts. Furthermore, smallholder and commercial farmers will find these machines ideal due to their versatile application to different agricultural products. Some of the noted benefits of these machines such as energy efficient incorporating renewable energy magnitudes, improved drying uniformity, increased labor independence, and efficient post-harvest management have been covered by the review. The paper further discusses the challenges such as the machines high cost, intricate maintenance, and specialized design requirements for different crops.
