The technological advancement of blockchain has resulted in significant progress in the global financial landscape, particularly concerning Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC) systems. Central banks worldwide are increasingly investigating blockchain technology to address ongoing issues such as limited transparency, high transaction costs, and inefficiencies in cross-border payments. This study examines how blockchain integrates with CBDC systems by reviewing scholarly literature published between January 2020 and April 2025, analyzing various blockchain-based models utilized within CBDC ecosystems for international transactions. The research highlights blockchain-based tamper-resistant ledger frameworks as a vital foundation for trust, transparency, and auditability in CBDC implementations. This content analysis provides valuable research insights that support the development of more robust and effective cross-border solutions, emphasizing collaborative strategies for blockchain-enabled CBDC. Furthermore, a bibliometric analysis of 165 highly relevant peer-reviewed articles was carried out to examine prevailing research trends, publication patterns, authorship contributions, and journal impact in this domain.
