This chapter delves into blockchain technology and its usage in the field of medical healthcare systems in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, especially for management purposes. This integration of blockchain will increase the data security, integrity, and sharing among healthcare services. This research groups several professionals in the field of IT, healthcare, and system administrators, through meetings and questions which has led to a mixed-methods approach. After careful consideration and the findings of the team, the results imply a solution that must be proposed considering security measures in hospitals. The problems of the systems have been identified by the IT team and the proposed solution must ensure that data protection is enhanced with the integration of blockchain in the hospitals, which meets the vulnerabilities of the current systems. The healthcare professionals pointed out that the systems must be transparent and have high accuracy for data management of the diagnosis process. Also, the system administrators highlighted the issues of compatibility between the new and existing systems need for a backup mechanism. This study was implemented in five hospitals in Duhok city in Kurdistan, with several interviews, questionaries, and surveys for applying blockchain technology in the healthcare systems for immutable medical data and protection for potential risks of privacy vulnerabilities.
