With the push for carbon neutrality and advances in technology, optimizing photovoltaic-storage configurations in charging stations has become vital for integrated energy-infrastructure development. This review outlines key theories and methods for coordinating PV-storage systems under multiple operating scenarios, including unified PV-storage optimization, dispatch strategies, and scenario-based coordination. It highlights the use of mathematical programming, heuristics, and data-driven forecasting. Practical strategies such as capacity planning and real-time scheduling are summarized, demonstrating the benefits of PV-storage coordination in reducing costs and improving system efficiency and resilience. The review also discusses challenges like balancing cost and performance, handling complex scenarios, and managing forecast uncertainties, while proposing a unified optimization framework for future development.
