Text Features and Structures

Chapter 1 focuses on the instructional focus area called Text Features and Structures . This chapter includes a one-page information sheet and three different planners (one for K–2, 3–5, 6–8). Each planner showcases a different short text type. In addition, each planner gives teachers Before Reading , During Reading , and After Reading teaching ideas, including Extension Opportunities that can be used to deepen students’ comprehension.
