Design and Applications of a High-Precision Dual-Channel Microwave Latex Dry-Content Analyzer

Xin Chen · Theory and Practice of Science and Technology · 2025

The dry rubber content (DRC) is a critical parameter for assessing natural latex quality and determining its commercial value. Although conventional methods such as oven-drying offer high accuracy, they are labor-intensive, time-consuming, and impractical for rapid on-site applications. To overcome these limitations, this study introduces a high-precision, dual-channel DRC analyzer based on microwave dielectric attenuation principles. The system adopts a differential design to mitigate common-mode environmental interference, integrating high-sensitivity sampling chips and stable signal sources to enable fast, stable, and accurate DRC measurements. Through comparative analysis with industrial-grade standard equipment in both laboratory and field environments, the instrument demonstrated a controlled measurement error within 0.41%, exhibiting excellent repeatability and environmental adaptability. This innovation proves particularly suitable for field detection requirements in latex collection, trade transactions, and processing operations.
