Orchestration technologies play a central role in managing the complexity of modern network systems, especially in IoT and B5G environments. This paper focuses on security orchestration in IoT for 5G and provides an overview of existing work, highlighting its contributions and identifying gaps that require further research. Key initiatives and projects such as SELFNET, INSPIRE 5G-PLUS, 5G-ENSURE, ANASTACIA and RAINBOW as well as open source platforms such as OpenBaton, OSM and ONAP are discussed to demonstrate the breadth of on-going efforts in this area. Relevant standards from organizations such as ETSI, IETF, 5G PPP, NGMN and IEEE are analyzed in terms of their role in promoting interoperability and innovation. Finally, we summarize the experiences from current projects and standardization efforts and highlight the unresolved challenges and future research directions. Sustainability, scalability and the integration of advanced technologies remain critical for effective orchestration in next-generation networks.
