This research presents the design and aerodynamic evaluation of a canard–trapezoidal wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), using both computational and experimental methods. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations are conducted using ANSYS software to analyze airflow behavior, lift and drag characteristics across various flight velocities ranging from 12 to 80 m/s. The results show the presence of negative pressure regions appearing near leading edge of main wing, while on the canard, these regions appear near leading edge but near the tip of wing. Both lift and drag forces increase with velocity. To validate the simulation results, a physical prototype of the UAV was fabricated and tested under controlled conditions. The results obtained show that the design model has good aerodynamic potential, but further stability adjustments are needed to be able to fly successfully.
