Internet of Things (IoT) and Edge Computing (EC) paradigms have been harmonized in heterogeneous real-time applications to ensure service availability at the user domain's brim. Integrating two distinct paradigms for service-centric applications and user support is massive. The problem of device vulnerabilities, privacy concerns, and authentication failures is common due to the heterogeneous behavior of edge devices. Integrating the IoT-Edge paradigms with such adverse exposures requires resilient authentication and access control procedures. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of blockchain-based security measures proposed for IoT-Edge. The proposal is explained with its central theme towards security administration and its purpose. Besides, the achievements/ improvements of the proposed methods are also discussed with a summary, findings, and graphical representations. In addition, this study provides deep insight into contemporary challenges and prospects of security flaws in IoT-Edge. It will motivate the pursuit of more research and advancement concerning blockchain applications.
