Kobayashi–Royden pseudometric of contractible surfaces

In this paper, we describe a family of smooth contractible algebraic surfaces [Formula: see text] different from [Formula: see text] such that [Formula: see text] admits dominant holomorphic maps from [Formula: see text] and there is a unique line [Formula: see text] in [Formula: see text] for which the Kobayashi–Royden pseudometric vanishes on the tangent bundle over [Formula: see text].
