The rapid advancement of augmented reality (AR) technology and its use in medical education plays a vital role in the view of teaching perspective. A thorough assessment of the latest advancements in terms of user adoption, established AR applications, and the impact of AR on the growth of healthcare competency is analyzed. The usage of augmented reality (AR), which allows digital learning activities to be placed in a real-world physical context, is one method that might be used to give educational opportunities. The use of Augmented Reality (AR) in healthcare has recently advanced, demonstrating how important technology is to the present public health system. The use of augmented reality in the healthcare sector has recently been proposed for a wide range of application areas, including wearable access, telehealth, secluded surgery, patient monitoring, analysis of patient records and critical care. Various AR therapeutic applications have been developed, but there are still some unrealized potentials for safe transmission of data, which really is crucial for the growth of this technology. The objective is to review the utilization of AR in the field of medical education and its contribution to various studies. Then the discrete medical application based on AR to improve the efficiency of the system is analyzed. Finally, the improvement in terms of security measures and privacy in AR systems during data transmission is reported.
