Searchable Encryption for Electronic Health Records Based on Order Preserving Encryption Techniques

Sahana Raj B S, V Sridhar · 2025

Searchable encryption allows querying over encrypted data without revealing sensitive information. However, many existing schemes expose partial data characteristics, such as exact plaintext values or access patterns. This paper presents a novel searchable encryption scheme that supports homomorphic sorting and binary search in the ciphertext domain while preserving the cardinal order. The scheme utilizes modular algebra and matrix-based encryption keys to enable secure and efficient encrypted comparisons. The design ensures enhanced privacy and computational efficiency, making it suitable for secure data outsourcing and encrypted cloud databases. Experimental results validate the correctness and performance of the proposed method.
