Biometrics, which refers to the analysis of biological data, is becoming increasingly important in today’s technological world. Biometrics is a technology of analyzing individual people based on physiological, behavioral, or morphological characteristics such as the face, fingerprint, iris, retina, voice, Geotags and signature, among others. Biometric techniques can be used to verify an individual’s identity. Biometrics is now widely used. Biometrics is now successfully used in a variety of fields such as forensic science, security, identification, and authorization systems. A lot of research has been done over the last three decades to advance biometric systems based on fingerprints, voice, iris, face, Geo tags and so on, but new biometrics have recently emerged. This paper provides an overview of various biometric systems, their applications, limitations, and the various types of access mechanisms that to be provides to the user. In this work we have designed a novel Geographical location based biometric authentication & access system to the user. We conclude the work by evaluate the performance of the proposed system based on Energy efficiency and latency.
