In this article, methods of integration of Residue Number System (RNS) into Quantum Key Distribution protocol BB84 were investigated. Two approaches were considered: integration of RNS into the coding of states and for key post-processing. The proposed methods allow an increase in the capacity of the quantum channel due to the transmission of a larger number of bits with one photon in the first case and to simplify key processing through compression in the second. Theoretical foundations and advantages of both approaches, as well as examples of their application, were presented. Integration of RNS into BB84 protocol helps to enhance the efficiency and flexibility of quantum cryptography while maintaining its security.
