Hierarchical Bayesian Network-Based Research on Converged Security Assessment for IoT System

Internet of Things (IoT) technology is widely used in production and life due to its many advantages. Unlike a single information or mechanical system, the information and physical converged structure of IoT systems leads to the coupling of functional safety and information security threats, which seriously affects the overall security of the system and makes the security elements and relationships more complex. Existing research mostly focuses on network and information security and ignores the coupling problem, resulting in incomplete identification of security elements and incomplete analysis of relationships. In this paper, this coupling relationship is fully considered, and a converged security assessment method for IoT systems is proposed based on the hierarchical Bayesian network model. The method solves the problem that existing assessment methods kind of ignore the coupling of functional safety threats and information security threats. The advantages of the proposed method are demonstrated in terms of the rationality and information content of the assessment results by comparing it with other three types of assessment models.
