Analysis of Channel Reciprocity Metrics for Large-Scale Asymmetric Transmit-Receive Arrays

Xuhuanghao Rui, Zhengbo Jiang, Zhang‐Cheng Hao · 2025

In the forthcoming era of wireless communications, large-scale asymmetric transmit-receive arrays are expected to play a pivotal role due to their potential to enhance capacity and energy efficiency. The uplink-downlink channel reciprocity of asymmetric arrays significantly impacts system performance, with current studies primarily focusing on the PAS Similarity Percentage (PSP) metric. However, the reliability of PSP is questionable in the context of large-scale rectangular arrays. Therefore, this letter will expand and improve upon the one-dimensional Beam Pointing Angles metric, then proposing a new testing metric and methodology specifically for large-scale asymmetric arrays, accompanied by comparative simulation results.
