Oana-Anastasia MINCIU · 2025
Containers have become an essential part in accelerating development while keeping small footprints for software solutions, with their small sizes being a desired characteristic related to performance. However, total size cannot be the single determining and other elements like file deduplication are also marked as essential. This short abstract presents other relevant factors related to image layers, which are impacting container performance, and the conclusions from their evaluation, which obtained improvements in image download times from a few seconds to even half of the initial time.
