This study examines theta-band synchronization as a neural correlate of integrated stimulus encoding during configural threat learning. Our findings demonstrate that theta oscillations mediate intermodal configural learning. Theta power increased after systems consolidation; this may evidence a brain mechanism to resolve interference between stimuli. These results enhance our understanding of how theta oscillations facilitate memory integration and competition in threat-related contexts.
