This work presents the development of a lightweight and cost-effective spy drone design for surveillance and security operations. Utilizing 1000 KV brushless DC motors, 30 Amp Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs), KK 2.1.5 as a flight controller, and Flysky i6 as a transmitter and receiver. This work is transitioned from an Arduino-based to the KK 2.1.5 flight controller to enhance flight stability, ability to integrate sensors, and optimized control algorithms. Weight optimization was achieved through using a hollow frame, providing structural integrity while minimizing mass. Key challenges in design include ensuring stability and maintaining a lightweight structure to optimize performance. By integrating the KK 2.1.5 controller, the drone achieves improved control responsiveness and stability compared to traditional Arduino configurations. Though field testing is yet to be conducted, anticipated outcomes include enhanced flight stability, efficient maneuverability, and prolonged flight times. The modular design and affordability make this drone an ideal solution for discreet surveillance in both urban and remote places. This paper contributes to the field by demonstrating how accessible, cost-efficient components can be combined with innovative design to meet modern surveillance demands. Future work will involve comprehensive testing to validate performance and explore potential enhancements such as autonomous navigation and real-time data transmission, emphasizing the viability of this system in addressing diverse surveillance challenges.
