Knowledge Workers’ Perceptions of Intelligence While Using AI for Information Search

While AI is rapidly adopted for information search in the domain of knowledge work, questions persist on how professionals experience these shifts. To understand this transformation, we investigate how knowledge workers perceive intelligence and agency while utilizing conversational AI for information search. We discuss how these perceptions influence their reliance on AI as well as their sense of ownership over the outputs produced in human-AI collaboration. This knowledge contributes to the safe and responsible integration of AI into the workforce.
