The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a global health crisis that encourages an urgent need for effective management strategies. Multi-omics techniques have emerged as an appealing management strategy against various diseases, including COVID-19. They provide a comprehensive understanding of disease complications in relation to virus virulence factors. Integrating multi-omics data analysis, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, offers essential insights into disease mechanisms and biomarkers for diagnostic purposes, in addition to identifying new therapeutic targets for potential treatments. Genomics studies can track the dynamics of viral transmission, while transcriptomics and epigenomics can provide data on changes related to gene regulation linked to disease severity. Proteomics and metabolomics investigations pinpoint crucial protein profiles and metabolic alterations in COVID-19 patients, offering possibilities for diagnosing and identifying therapeutic targets. Ultimately, this integrative multi-omics 216 approach enhances clinical outcomes via targeted interventions and identification of prognostic indicators. Moreover, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) methodologies can refine and expedite the analysis of extensive multi-omics datasets, potentially revolutionizing our understanding and management of the COVID-19 disease.
