Children&s;s language development has an impact on various aspects of their future, including academic achievement, interpersonal communication, and social adaptability. In the critical period of children&s;s language development, timely understanding of their language development process and scientific observation are crucial, which helps to identify potential problems early and provide targeted support. This chapter will systematically introduce the common methods of observing children&s;s language and provide a series of practical observation indicators to help parents, teachers, and researchers gain a comprehensive understanding of the characteristics and levels of children&s;s language development. For some more specialized observation methods, such as the widely used language development assessment scales and neural detection technologies, we will provide a detailed description in the subsequent chapters.
