Revisiting constructions of codes over Galois rings through š¯‘˛-ary lifts

We revisit known constructions of self-dual codes over Galois rings through the view point of q q -ary lifts from the finite field F p r \mathbb {F}_{p^r} , p p a prime. We show that known results about the lifts of codes over Z p m \mathbb {Z}_{p^m} can be easily extended and thus this approach provides a valid alternative way to study codes over Galois rings. We conclude with some open questions.
